esofago de barret
  19

Barrett's esophagus, Barrett syndrome, refers to an abnormal change of cells of the terminal portion of the esophagus, i.e. a metaplasia, which may be the result of injury due to exposure to stomach acid or by reflujo.1 Barrett's esophagitis is also present in 10% of patients who seek medical care for gastroesophageal reflux. It is considered a disorder pre-maligno, for being associated with a certain risk of esophageal cancer, but patients under endoscopic control and proper treatment can minimize that risk.
